Part Two Antigone Post

Quote:
Shortly after Creon discovers both his son and wife are dead, the chorus and Creon are left together. The Chorus states, "The future is not to be known; our present care is with the present; the rest is in other hands" (Sophocles 161).

Question:
What do you think it means, "our present care is with the present" when speaking about the death of a loved one? Do you think it has anything to do with the idea that all we have is the present and to make the best of it? Or is this a meaningless piece that is just stuck in for the Chorus? Thoughts??
